Petition Surrogate motherhood: Rejection of Opinion No. 86 of the Belgian Advisory Committee on Bioethics
On April 17, 2023, in response to Minister Frank Vandenbroucke, the Belgian Bioethics Advisory Committee issued opinion no. 86 on surrogacy (GPA). We strongly oppose this opinion, biased in favor of surrogacy legalization, ignoring women’s and children’s rights.

Join us on March 28 from 10am-1pm in Brussels, Belgium for a feminist reflection seminar on surrogacy hosted by the Women’s University of Brussels, women against surrogacy Belgium, CIAMS, and 14 other feminist associations in Belgium.
We’ll examine surrogacy from multiple perspectives, including a first-hand account from Olivia Maurel who was born from surrogacy. Other topics include the health and ethical risks of surrogacy pregnancies and a feminist analysis of the surrogacy industry.
There will be opportunities for audience participation and respectful dialogue. The event will take place at Amazon, located at Rue du Meridien 10, 1210 Brussels.
